When people search the internet they do not generally evalute the websites they visit. This assignment taught me the importance of evaluating a website because there are some websites that are nice to look at however, they prove not to be creditable sources. The main things I learned to look for when accessing websites is the site relevant to the topic your researching. Another thing I learned was is it an official website. For instance is it a government website or a webpage that is open to the public for anyone to modify. In addition to that I learned that in order to evaluate a website the browser must determine if the information on the site in correct. The final thing I learned was to check and see if the site has current information on it. Prior to this assignment when I research topics I rarely take the time to look at these aspects however, this assignment taught me the importance of finding crediable sources on the internet.

One way I will use this information in my classroom is to take sure I enhance my lessons with websites that are effective and efficient. In addition to that this will help me protect the students from receiving incorrect information about specific topics. Another way I will incorpate evaluated websites into my classroom is finding website that deal directly with my lessons and have all the features to be considered a good website. After completing this assignment I have concluded that teachers must throughly evaluate the websites they retrieve there information from because they could be depriving the students of becoming experts on specific subjects.
